The Nordic Liaison officer receives honorary medal

Last updated: 03.6.2010 г. // The Nordic Liaison Officer, Mr. Rune L. Fossedal had the great honour of receiving the first honorary medal ever given to a police liaison officer by the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior.

The Director of IOPCD, Dimitar Georgiev, conveyed the gratitude of the Republic of Bulgaria for Mr. Fossedal`s assistance to the Ministry of Interior in defending the national safety, safeguarding the public order and countering crime, by presenting him with the highest honorary medal the Ministry of Interior can bestow upon a foreign national.

This is the first time such an honorary medal ever have been granted to a liaison officer, and therefore it was with great honour Mr. Fossedal  received this distinction. The Norwegian Embassy is very proud of that this merit has been awarded to Mr. Fossedal.

The presentation of both the medal and the accompanying diploma signed by the Minister of Interior, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, took place on the 1 June 2010 at the farewell reception in the residence of the Norwegian Ambassador. Here the Nordic Liaison officer and his wife Aud Fossedal said their goodbyes to partners and contacts and thanked for four wonderful years in Bulgaria.
