60th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights
09.11.2010 г. //
This week Europe is commemorating the 60th anniversary of the European Convention of Human Rights, a document stipulating the foundations of the human rights in the Member States of the Council of Europe. The greatest novelty introduced with this Convention was the establishment of the European Court of Human Rights as a mechanism aiming at protecting and exercising the human rights on supranational level.
Making decisions in accordance with the provisions of the Convention, the European Court of Human Rights has defined the roadmaps for the Member States intended for consistently respecting the human rights of their citizens.
