112 service is helpful when you need emergency medical aid, in case of a car accident, fire, natural disaster – flooding, earthquake, etc., industrial accident – chemical contamination of the environment, public violation, a threat for your life or property.
To activate 112 Emergency Service you have to dial directly 112, without prefix – from any mobile or fixed phone device and from street phones;
112 service is free of charge and is accessible from subscribers of Bulgarian telecoms and from roaming users;
What is important to be known by the foreign visitors in the Republic if Bulgaria is, that except in Bulgarian language, 112 service accepts calls in English, French and German languages.
After you dial 112 your call is accepted by a call taker, who registers your case in the information system during the conversation. After call termination your case is forwarded to one or more services, which are able to provide help - Ambulance, Civil Protection, Police, Fire Brigade, Mountain rescue or Marine rescue.
