Modern Scandinavian architecture, an architectural style with light as its most prominent feature, is the focal point of the piece. An architectural style the Norwegian residence fully represent in an elegant and functional way. The Norwegian residence in Boyana was officially opened the fall of 2009, and is designed by PML Architecture and N1 architects.

In its description of the residence Brava Casa describes it as a building that thru material and structure catches the rays of the sun like a suntrap. The grand glass windows invite both nature and light into the building and the interior design follow in the same spirit with everything from the curtains to glass vases and to the chandelier capturing the sunbeams. Natural material is widely used in the building with extensive use of ceramics, glass, grey granite and wood in its natural form.Materials that all are popular in Norway. The garden, created by the landscaping firm Trifolia, also reflects Norway as the garden imitates Norwegian nature thru the usage of native Bulgarian plants. A scene one is invited to enjoy thru the majestic glass windows of the residence.
The Nordic inspiration and style runs thru the every little piece of the residence. Brava Casa comments on how wonderfully the building represents the Nordic desire and strive for light and shelter, a feature that is illustrated by hollows spaces in the woodwork that appear to be filled with glass. Despite all these design features the building is also a highly functional and modern building praised for its innovative separation of the private and public quarters. The ambassadors’ private terrace is not even visible from the public part.
