Looking at the latest statistics published by the Norwegian Central Bureau of Statistics we can see that the bilateral relations when it comes to commercial activity are steadily on the rise. In 2003 the import from Bulgaria to Norway was in 130,8 million NOK and in 2008 387,9 million NOK. We see here an increase of almost 300%. The export from Norway to Bulgaria was in 2003 46,1 million NOK and in 2008 127,3 million NOK, also almost 3 times more.
1 Bulgarian Lev is approximately 4,2 Norwegian crowns.
The level of trade level is still very modest by European standards, but the arrows are pointing in the right direction. Hopefully the trade can also be more balanced ni the future. Today Norway is importing 3 times more than we are exporting to Bulgaria.
